Pennsylvania Invests $36M in Community Revitalization Program Nov 27, 2023

The Shapiro administration in Pennsylvania has unveiled the first round of awards for its Neighborhood Assistance Program, allocating approximately $36 million in tax credits to incentivize private businesses to support community improvement projects in distressed areas. The program aims to foster public-private partnerships for the revitalization of communities across the state. Sixty out of the 261 supported projects will be located in Southeastern Pennsylvania, including a $3 million investment in Philabundance, the largest food bank in the region, to address food insecurity and strengthen public-private collaboration in tackling community challenges.  For more information, please see the following story:

Budget Increase for Film Tax Credit Program Oct 20, 2022

Pennsylvania’s 2022-2023 annual Film Tax Credit Program budget received a 42% increase this year pushing the program’s available yearly funding from $70 Million to $100 Million.  The increase will allow Pennsylvania to attract more film investment to the State as producers are typically more willing to go to states that bring them the largest benefit for their investment.  This tax credit increase is a result of years of collaboration between industry groups such as the Pennsylvania Film Industry Association, Philadelphia Film Office, Pittsburgh Film Office and others with Pennsylvania legislators, particularly the Legislative Film Caucus.  For more information, please see the following story:
